God has a plan for your life, and it is a plan for you to thrive.

It's a plan for good, goodness you will see and taste and know in the land of the living, goodness which will flow through and out of you, goodness which will overflow FROM you as you live in your right calling, and become His walking decree.

Whatever your own plan or idea is for your life, the ways you hope or scheme for things to improve, to grow, to truly FLOW, His plan is better. More abundant. More excited. Already pre-filled with joy. And far far bigger and higher than yours!

His plan is one which YOU literally can't carry out in your own ability.

Even if you are gifted. (Which you are).

Even if you are a creative genius. (Which I assume!).

Even if, in the natural, you actually do have a capacity greater than nearly everyone around you. (Which you more than likely do, because hi, He is having me WRITE this for you).

Even with all of this, and even if you were to gather together the best of the worlds resources and the best people alongside you to help you to see your dreams bear life, even then you STILL could not touch a speck of a speck of a speck of 0.0000001% of what He has actually created you to do, because what He has put in you - and the seed it's time to let flourish now - requires the supernatural ingredient which is HIM.

If it can happen in the natural it's not what you were actually born for.

But the counterfeit is attractive, no?

It's seductive, enticing, magnetic, and it appears to be fulfilling.

It appears, when we are seeking it, creating it, inadvertently or whether or not we know it becoming it, as though if we just get that little bit farther, we will finally be filled up.

A little more growth, a little more accomplishment, a little more production, a little more catching up, a little more reaching up, a little bigger income, or output, or self-management, or self-sufficiency, or maybe just another platform, and then once we conquer THAT all will finally be ... dandy.

Of course we don't like to think too much about the bit where even if we do manage to catch up, we then have to keep up.

When we're lured by and looped to the counterfeit, we don't really want the reminder that every door we built, opened, walked through, and built a scaffold to ourselves, is also one that we now have to keep open and sustain the activity of ... forever.

When we're 'IN' it, carried away on emotion and a self-serving prayer with ideas of our own grandeur, even ideas of how spiritual we are - "look how much GOOD I am doing; if only others would take as much action as me!" - we are, almost to the very core, sold.

High on our own self-created soul supply, and convinced that THIS is what it's all about. "I'm thriving!"

When in actual fact you are alternately geed up and worked up on a dopamine-fuelled rush of freeing and exalting yourself by yourself, with yourself, through yourself, and for yourself, and whilst you'd add 'and others' in there the truth is you are so spun in chasing that haze of mistaken glory that you don't even really notice the complete and utter lack of living water through any of it and as for the other side of the rush, the bit where you are so down and out you can barely drag yourself to make coffee?

Must just need more protein ;)

Look.

I'm not sitting here assuming you're out there relentlessly pursuing your own ways in lieu of letting the life-giving breath of the Lord overtake and pour out of you, but I'm also not assuming you've escaped the call of the counterfeit, because I AM assuming you're as human as me, and here is what I know about us high-performing types who KNOW we have a huge call on our life:

We want to figure out the call, and then we want to absolutely smash it outta the ballpark.

Also? YEAH we want that for the glory of God, in and by and through and to and from Him!

But also also? Yeah we need to be actively, daily, moment by moment and breath by breath even, putting on Christ and letting the Spirit of God lead. Or we are in very real and ever present danger of vaguely, sort of, sometimes, in moments of stillness and presence with God, absolutely knowing and seeing His heart and plans for us, and then?

Getting on with what we are doing, what we have made worthy in our lives, and what we FEEL would result in us finally being who we were born to be.

All the while hoping we get another Holy Spirit hit at that next meeting, because hey - ! Gotta fuel the dream.

It'd be funny if it wasn't terrifying.

Oh Lord! That we would walk in your holy FEAR so we can see our way straight!

Here is what it comes down to. And whether you even need to be here right now, reading this. Whether it is remotely for you.

You already know.

That's it.

You already know if you are off of the beat of Jesus in you.

You already know if you are run, run, running, yet there's nothing of substance beneath you, you're not even QUITE sure where you're going, and you already know you don't actually wanna get there!

You already KNOW if what you're building. Chasing. Dreaming on, and I mean those shallow fleeting dreams, not the ones which leave your spirit gasping because they are TRUE, and scheming on stuff which just ... isn't really alive.

LOOK at it right now. Whatever 'it' is. That you've been holding yourself to. Trying to get to. Trying to be enough for, do enough for, get on top of, or finally achieve.

Does it have LIFE in it?

Can you feel its beating pulse?

Is there a resounding yes in the deep waters of your spirit because you KNOW you received it there from His and now He is breathing through you, leading you, calling you ever deeper, romancing you ever further into a life which could ONLY unfold in Him, and the work of your hands is just part of that and oh - ! What a beautiful wondrous thing, which reveals and magnifies JESUS, or ...

Is it dead in the water already, and the truth is that you just don't want to FULLY look at that even though you've known it pretty much the whole.entire.time.

There's no GRACE there.

No snap. No crackle. No pop. No FIRE.

But apparently you'll be darned if you're not gonna drag its carcass far enough that eventually your own lays down alongside it.

So yeah.

You KNOW already.

I'll bet your real tired of the running, too. Probably scared, alongside of that, that if you admit you're just so DONE with all of the self-fuelled building and being, if you admit that that is what you've BEEN doing in many ways, that it will leave you with nothing and as nobody!

Don't worry. We're getting to that ;)

it really doesn't matter just how much good or even great you and I think is in what we're doing, it REALLY only comes down to DID GOD PUT THAT IN US AND IS IT WHAT WE'RE MEANT TO HAVE PICKED UP RIGHT NOW?

A moment, if you will, to grieve the loss of the idea of carrying and covering ourselves with ourselves by ourselves for ourselves and through ourselves, oh WAIT IT'S A PARTY.
